Our olive wood items are are all designed in-house and made for us by artisans from around the North African region. We source this wood carefully from selected olive farms and we only use old trees which have come to the end of their natural fruiting life. We are very passionate about this as it allows the olive farmers to sell, rather than discard, their old trees which in turn allows them to reinvest in new, younger, more productive trees. This injection of investment allows the farmers to continue employing their family members and those in the local community, in some of the poorest regions in the world.
Our journals are sourced from various community collectives in India and Nepal. All the leather is sustainably sourced and is a by-product of their local food industry. The paper we use is also sustainably sourced, is acid free and unlined. Please check each individual product listings for more detailed information.
River Oak is sourced from marshes, bog lands and river beds. These have not been cut down in order to produce this range, but are instead excavated having fallen naturally many many years ago.
